About Us

We are the Halifax West Programming Club!

The Halifax West Programming Club meets every Thursday at lunch in room B320 and the Halifax West Maker Space. Students here are given many different opportunities to try different activities.

In the Halifax West Programming Club we have students working on all different types of activities including: building a life-size 3D Scanner, building and designing circuits and PCBs, learning to code, experimenting and coding the Raspberry Pi or Arduino, designing and managing websites, 3D printing and much more!

One of the main focuses of this club is to work on a Life-Size 3D Scanner. The 3D Scanner uses the Raspberry Pi technology to capture and stitch together dozens of high-resolution images to create 3D models. These 3D models can then be sent to one of our 3D printers.

This club is open to all students and staff at Halifax West High School. Everyone is encouraged to drop in and explore the many opportunities to explore the amazing world of science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics and entrepreneurship (STEAME).

If you have any questions please see Mr. Watt in Room B323.
